State licensed, Reggio Emilia inspired preschool for children ages 3 – 5 years old.
Motivated by children and their everlasting desire to explore the world around them!

Kara Borgeson
Owner, 20 + years experience in Early Childhood Education, B.A.- Spanish, Family Consumer Science, Early Childhood Education License- MN, WY Early Childhood classes completed.

Diane McGee
Administrative Assistant: 5+ years of experience in Early Childhood education in JH; M.S. in Environmental Education & Interpretation through Univ. of Idaho & Teton Science School’s Professional Residency in Environmental Education; and fortunate to be raising my family in JH.
Reggie
Reggie is our school dog. We are very lucky to have Reggie! This cutie was left in a dumpster as a puppy and rescued by our Local Adoption Center. Reggie LOVES coming on adventures with us and the children love him!
Environment
Lots of space for the children to explore! With 2 classrooms, the Studio and the Jose’ room– full of natural light, the children have room to play and move about as needed.
The Studio offers the children a variety of centers to explore: dramatic play, sensory exploration, science center, art, building & creating, easels, writing, cooking, and more! The Jose’ room provides the children with a soft, home-like environment.
The children engage in Movement & Music, AM Meeting, Small Group time, Story Time, and Rest time in the Jose’ room.
These ever-changing environments provide the children with REAL life, meaningful learning opportunities. All learning environments are hands-on, thought-provoking, and most important —-FUN!
Outdoors
The Play Yard is a fun ever-changing outdoor classroom. The Play Yard is a great place where the children are submerged in numerous dramatic/creative play environments and multiple sensory experiences.
JH Discovery Preschool has a fenced in play yard with creative, natural play spaces for the children to explore. Logs, sand, art, movement, dramatic play options including fabric & costumes, and a variety of other things to explore are a few examples.
We have a BEAUTIFUL Mud kitchen adjacent to the mud pit! Children have access to a hose and hand pump, ramps, and funnels (weather appropriate).
Local Adventures
We love to go on adventures and find new places to play and explore. We visit the parks, the Rodeo grounds, and many other places you never think of exploring in our town!
Forest Adventures
We often venture into the nearby National Forest on Snow King Mountain just 2 blocks away. We spend large chunks of time hiking, exploring and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
Handwriting Without Tears (HWT)
The children at JH Discovery Preschool get a jump start on writing with this amazing writing program for preschoolers. HWT is also used as the writing curriculum in the Teton County School District.
Family Nights
We have 2 Family Nights per school year. Fall, Winter, and our End of the Year Graduation Family Night the last day of school in June. Family nights are potluck style and always include family.
